The first news is arriving on the state of health of the Venetian aid worker Alberto Trentini, who has been detained in prison in Venezuela for over two months . "Certain proof" of his good conditions has arrived through a channel that is keeping a dialogue open with the Venezuelan authorities. This information was greeted with a sigh of relief by his family, who in recent weeks had appealed to the government to take an interest in his case, as happened for the journalist Cecilia Sala, and to commit to having him return home.

"We are full of hope. The desire to see and hear him is great," commented Armanda, the mother of the aid worker who arrived in Venezuela on October 17 for a mission with the NGOs Humanity and Inclusion and was arrested at a checkpoint on November 15 while traveling from Caracas to Guasdalito. The parents of the forty-five-year-old have been mobilized for some time, with appeals and other initiatives, to shed light on the story.

"No official news has ever been communicated by any Venezuelan or Italian authority and in fact, for almost two months, we have known nothing about Alberto's fate, also considering that he suffers from health problems and does not have medicines or any basic necessities with him", they had said in recent weeks, explaining that since the day of his arrest no one had been able to see him or speak to him. A situation of total blackout that had led the relatives of the Venetian aid worker to ask for the intervention of the Government to "put in place all possible and necessary diplomatic efforts, opening a constructive dialogue with the Venezuelan institutions, to bring Alberto home and guarantee his safety".

An appeal for his release also came from Giulio Regeni's parents during Fabio Fazio's show 'Che tempo che fa'. "We ask the government to get moving because too much time has passed, no one knows where he is. We want him to come home safe and sound," said Paola Deffendi, the mother of the Italian researcher killed in Egypt. And in recent days in her hometown of Venice, a flash mob was organized on the pier in Piazzetta San Marco, where a banner was displayed with the photo of the young aid worker and the hashtag #freealberto.
