The earthquake recorded in Japan, in the prefecture of Kagoshima, is of magnitude 6.1. Over 200 aftershocks have occurred in less than a week.

The epicenter, according to data provided by the JMA, the National Meteorological Agency, the epicenter was located just 14 kilometers deep, on the island of Akuseki. At the moment, no injuries or damage to buildings have been reported and no tsunami warning has been issued.

Super-fast train services were suspended for 15 minutes, then resumed operation. The Kagoshima area and the entire Tokara Islands archipelago are subject to frequent earthquakes, seismologists explain. Between 9 and 30 April of this year, according to local surveys, 265 tremors occurred, with at least 4 of amplitude greater than magnitude 4.
