There are 68 doctors who work in an intensive care unit of the Malaga Regional Hospital and who tested positive for Covid-19 after attending a Christmas party, which involved 173 people.

This was reported by Reuters, citing the regional government of Andalusia as a source.

The health authorities have not yet identified with certainty the source of the infection, and it seems that all those who contracted the virus had carried out antigen tests and had even carried out the third booster vaccination before attending the party.

Another possible source of the infection may have been a meal eaten by hospital staff.

However, all doctors who tested positive showed mild symptoms.

Andalusian health authorities have asked all health workers in public and private hospitals to avoid participating in Christmas celebrations.

In Andalusia at the moment there are 136 positive cases per 100 thousand inhabitants.
