Enrico Pitzalis of Settimo San Pietro won a bronze medal at the World Transplant Championships currently underway in Germany. Pitzalis took third place in the tennis singles event in Bresden, where another Settimo San Pietro transplant athlete, Paolo Perra, is also competing.

For Enrico Pitzalis, Mayor Gigi Puddu said, "this is another important achievement, not only from a sporting perspective, but also because, with this success, it sends an even stronger message of gratitude for transplantation, for the importance of donation, and for the desire to live through sport."

"I'm really satisfied," Pitzalis said. "I competed against some very strong opponents in a truly extraordinary competition. It's a great satisfaction."
