He arrived in Cagliari today for one of his lectures, at the invitation of the University, but he was greeted by a large group of protesters who contested him. This happened to the Israeli professor Alex Bronstein, who from today until Thursday will hold the reading course "Advanced statistical methods for artificial intelligence" at the Palazzo delle Scienze in via Ospedale . The criticism comes not for his academic skills, but for his positions considered Zionist, anti-Palestinian and anti-Arab in general.

The protesters showed their solidarity with the Palestinian, Lebanese and Syrian people and, in addition, they again asked the University of Cagliari to boycott all relations with Israeli universities . Among the associations present were "Freedom for Oppressed Peoples", "Freedom for Palestine", "Ban on the State of Israel". Bronstein, an engineer and computer scientist, is a professor at the Technion Institute in Haifa and his relationship with the University of Cagliari is that of a visiting professor. His series of lectures at the university in the capital is aimed at students of the master's degree in Mathematics and Computer Science, PhD students, grant holders and researchers as well as other interested parties.

The protesters also strongly criticized the University: "It continues to weave relationships with Israel, despite the rector's statements dating back to the beginning of this year," wrote Unica per la Palestina in announcing Bronstein's presence. "Let's not look the other way: the time has come again for us to mobilize against the Zionism that is creeping into our university, and that allows those who support a genocide to enter the classrooms to teach while in Gaza the right to education is dying with the murdered students."
