An investigation by the Public Prosecutor's Office will shed light on the tragic accident that cost the lives of 18-year-old Gabriele Galici , from Cagliari, and his friend Filippo Corongiu , originally from Monserrato, who would have turned 18 in October.

At dawn on Friday they fell badly while riding a Honda SH 125 scooter on the road that runs along the Poetto seafront.

Initial investigations have ruled out the possibility of other vehicles being involved, but Deputy Prosecutor Nicoletta Mari has nevertheless decided to open a case against unknown persons, suspecting a double homicide, to shed light on the circumstances of the incident. If necessary, the prosecutor, once the Carabinieri have completed their investigation, may appoint an expert to prepare a report.

Meanwhile, today at 3 pm, the funerals of the two young men will be held in the Basilica of Bonaria.
