Her husband, Giorgio Meneghel, 53, a farmer, was taken over by the carabinieri, after having given the alarm himself to 112, confessing: "I killed my wife".
The investigation into the crime is coordinated by the prosecutor of Oristano, Sara Ghiani, and is conducted by the carabinieri of the provincial command of Oristano and of the Company, who immediately intervened on the spot after the phone call, stopping Meneghel, also suspecting that he wanted to take his own life.
The charge against him is that of voluntary murder. After an initial interview with the investigators, the man was taken to Massama prison.
On the basis of some rumors, the man told the military that he was experiencing a difficult time from a health and economic point of view, with numerous debts that he could not cope with. Problems that also affected his wife, herself sick. Moreover, for some time, the two had been living apart in the house.
The RIS specialists from Cagliari are also in action in the house where the murder was committed, to look for clues useful for the investigation.
