The pandemic has increased the discomfort of young people in Sassari by two thirds, as shown by the requests received by Telefono Amico, which mainly concern the Under 25s.

This morning the V Permanent Council Commission dealing with social problems, chaired by Virginia Orunesu, met at the Doge's Palace.

The report presented by Giusy Manca, professor of Social Pedagogy and marginality at the University of Sassari, is alarming. “Unfortunately, the effect of the pandemic among young people has been underestimated, forced to give up social experiences. This has led to greater aggression in some, even unmotivated, in others a self-exclusion that is holding back the resumption of social life now that the restrictions are loosening ".

National data speak of one in three boys struggling with psychological distress, in various forms and intensities.

The municipal councilors Daniele Deiana and Massimo Rizzu highlighted that the times for the creation of the youth council are speeding up. The regulation has just been revised and the approval of the same and above all of the Statute is now awaited.

The proposal of the councilor Mariano Brianda was also appreciated: "We must create an adolescence observatory in collaboration with universities, schools and other bodies to have the information that leads to effective interventions".
