Two young men adrift in front of Balai beach were rescued this morning by the Porto Torres Coast Guard.

The semi-cabin was located about 200 meters from the coast, around 9 the request for help arrived at the operations room. The boat, which left Castelsardo, accused an engine failure just as it was arriving in Porto Torres.

The men of the Coast Guard, having ascertained the good conditions of the two men aged 34 and 37, invited them to remain calm and wear life jackets. Then, without ever interrupting the telephone contact, they sent the CP 810 patrol boat.

The boat was escorted to the port and safely moored: shaken by the incident but the two young men safe and sound.

“We can say that today the season of rescue operations officially begins”, says Gabriele Peschiulli, the head of the Turritano maritime compartment, captain of Fregata. Who then addresses some advice: "Avoid going out alone as much as possible and pay particular attention to the presence and functionality of the safety equipment of your boats and communication devices, which must be adequate for the distance from the coast".
