"I claim the writing". This morning in the court in Sassari the hearing was held in the trial in which two independence activists, Bruno Bellomonte, 74 years old, and the seventy-six year old Mario Sanna, are accused of defacement, because in 2018 they had written on the boundary wall of the Surigheddu estate, in the countryside of Alghero, "Sa terra sarda a su populu sardu".
The first one underwent examination and reported the political reasons for the action , aimed at "protesting", as reported in a press release by the Libertade association, "against the neglect and indolence of the Sardinia Region which has abandoned those places, ensuring that they are cyclically the object of speculative aims of private individuals".
"These are very fertile lands," the note concludes, "property of the Region, which should be returned to the Sardinians so that they can cultivate them and produce work again for young Sardinians." On June 17, before judge Monia Adami, there will be the final discussion in which the two defendants will be defended by the lawyer Giulia Lai .
