«Work still at a standstill at the Oncology Department of Cagliari»: the anger of the patients
No construction site for operating rooms, associations pressuring Bartolazzi: «Intervene immediately»Per restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
"Unfortunately, once again we have to record a lack of respect for the commitments made by the management of Arnas Brotzu towards cancer patients. Learning that the reconstruction work on the two operating rooms of the "Armando Businco" cancer hospital in Cagliari has not yet begun is causing great concern, also considering the limited time to complete and test the works by 26 June 2026".
This is stated in a note by the associations Cittadinanzattiva Tribunale dei Diritti del Malato, Comitato Sa Luxi, Dragon Karalis Pink Team, Fidapa Cagliari, Il Giardino di Lu, Komunque Donne, Lega Italiana contro il Tumore, Maipiùsole contro il Tumore, Medicina Democratica, Salute Donna, Sinergia Femminile, Socialismo Diritti Riforme who ask for an immediate intervention by the Health Councilor.
"Having dashed the hope of seeing modular, prefabricated operating rooms built," the associations underline, "people with tumor problems and associations have given credence to the project of demolition and reconstruction of the operating rooms also to be able to use, as had been underlined on various occasions by the leaders of Arnas and by the councilor Armando Bartolazzi, the funds of the Pnrr of approximately 11 million euros. However, nothing so far seems to have come to fruition and the risk of not seeing the new Operating Rooms built in a timely manner is increasingly looming as a dangerous reality."
"Drawing attention to what is happening at Businco", conclude the patients' associations, "is however a duty of the council to which we ask to intervene urgently also, if necessary, to remove the obstacles to the realization of the project. It is clear that a delay in the delivery of the works will not only lead to the loss of funding but will determine the disappearance of the oncology hospital which, without the operating rooms, will lose its main role causing damage to the entire island community".
