The Ogliastra trade union movement is in mourning. Peppino Mura , the longtime secretary of the Ogliastra CGIL from 1970 to 1990, died this morning.

He was 83 years old. According to initial reports, Mura, originally from Jerzu, was in the Perdasdefogu countryside on a hunting trip when he was struck by a sudden illness.

All rescue efforts were futile. A heart attack would have killed him. A key figure for the union in Ogliastra for decades, Mura represented a generation of workers' rights activists.
