Investigations into what happened yesterday in Sassari, in the Monte Rosello neighborhood , continue.
DO, the 55 year old from Bari arrested yesterday by the police for stabbing his nephew's wife , RM, 50 years old , was questioned until late evening by investigators and rejected all charges .
Assisted by the lawyer Letizia Forma , the man said he was arguing with his relative about money. He tried to disarm her, she fell on the blade, injuring herself. He was then the one to call 113. This is his version.
The man told investigators that he had moved to Sassari a few months ago, to get away from his city where he was living in a difficult situation and that he was a guest at his nephew's house. However, the latter's wife had insistently asked him for money to help with expenses, despite his pension of only 350 euros. A situation that caused continuous arguments, such as the one that occurred yesterday, which resulted in the wounding.
The version of the fall and accidental wounding, however, did not convince the inspectors of the Flying Squad of the Police Headquarters and the public prosecutor of Sassari Elisa Succu : the man is therefore locked up in the Bancali prison, accused of attempted murder.
The 50-year-old, who underwent emergency surgery after arriving at the Santissima Annunziata emergency room with a perforated kidney and lung, is still in very serious condition .
