Despite not having a license , he was driving a high-powered Audi. Meanwhile, he was talking on his cell phone. For this reason, local police officers, who intercepted him on Via Emilia in Cagliari, ordered him to stop.

NZ, 24, did not stop and fled.

The motorcycle officers began the chase, which ended shortly after in Via Podgora: the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

This escape attempt also proved unsuccessful: one of the officers caught up with him and stopped him.

Subsequent checks revealed that NZ had never had a driving licence and had other similar incidents to his name , which is why he was reported at large for repeated offences of driving without a licence and resisting a public official.

The car, which was found to be rented, was returned to its owner.
