With the Government's energy decree, wind turbines and panels in 15% of Sardinia
The final green light from the Chamber will be given by tomorrow, 370 thousand hectares of land immediately suitable: quarries, military zones, abandoned and polluted areas immediately suitable by law.Per restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
Fifteen percent of the island. Worse still: a territory as large as Gallura filled with solar farms and wind turbines as high as 200 meters. Coasts with revolving panoramas not far from the paradise of the Costa Smeralda, Villasimius, or Baunei. The energy decree—which will be approved by the Chamber of Deputies by tomorrow after the Senate's approval—could deal Sardinia the final blow. And the island risks being invaded by wind turbines and agri-photovoltaic systems, regardless of the plan established in Cagliari in compliance with Roman parameters.
The data
As the Permanent Presidium of the Sardinian People points out, a careful analysis of Decree 175 and its cross-references to other provisions incorporated therein reveals that 370,000 hectares of Sardinian territory are immediately suitable for the construction of wind and photovoltaic plants: 50,000 hectares of these are offshore, within territorial waters near ports. This figure does not include the Wild West beyond 12 miles, where, in theory, any intervention is permitted. Therefore, on land alone, the hectares that could be sacrificed in the name of an energy transition as impactful as other known forms of pollution are approximately 320,000.
