Politics awaits. Trying to counteract the wind invasion in Sardinia are the technicians of the Region, who govern the offices and have to have their say in the deluge of ministerial procedures for the installation of systems on the island.

The latest opinions in chronological order concern a wind farm that Edison wants to build on a plateau in Florina s, less than a kilometer and a half from the town.

«The plant is made up of 8 wind turbines, each with a nominal power of 6 MW, for a total power of 48 MW. Each wind turbine", we read in the documents, " will have a hub height of up to 122.5 meters and a rotor diameter of up to 155 metres, for a total height of 200 metres. Each turbine will be anchored to a completely underground foundation plinth, with a truncated cone shape and a maximum diameter of approximately 25 metres, with a height varying from 0.80 to 2.55 metres". Colossi of iron and steel with reinforced concrete foundations.

The position of the Environment Department, published on April 4, is trenchant. The general director Delfina Spiga signs a document that could be a model: the department «while aware of the contribution that the Regions must provide to achieve challenging goals» linked to climate protection «cannot fail to note that in the vast area of The intervention is creating a cumulation effect which is expected to be far greater than the carrying capacity of the natural environment."

A phenomenon which, continues the department's document , «concerns in a widespread manner the entire regional territory where, as is known», it is underlined, «the connection requests to build renewable energy plants are such as to exceed, by 31 December 2023 , nine times the objective established for Sardinia, to be achieved by 2030, in the so-called "suitable areas"".

For the General Directorate of the Environment, the "progressive replacement and industrialization of the landscape and the natural environment with large-scale plants" is envisaged. It happens in Florinas, as in the rest of Sardinia.

Not to mention that for each plant there are also grid connection works which, according to the department, have an impact "which in most proceedings is not adequately examined and assessed".
