The ASL 8 is taking action, following the complaint by the association Sardegna Possibile about the inconvenience for the disabled in the medical emergency of viale Trieste in Cagliari. The structure, since last April 17, has replaced the one of via Talete ( not without protests ) and in the last few days several patients with disabilities have highlighted difficulties in access. Among these, a stair lift not put into operation, except by those with specific training.
This morning, ASL 8 carried out an inspection of the medical emergency unit to verify accessibility. "It was possible to verify that the stairlift is in perfect working order," the company reports, "and there is no sign requiring specific training in its use."
"In this regard," the note continues, "through the managers of the companies that employ the concierge staff and the armed guard, it was reiterated to communicate to the operators to support disabled people who require assistance in access , by activating the stair lift to guarantee easy and safe access whenever requested."
The management of ASL 8 apologized "to the Association and to all disabled people or those with walking difficulties for the inconvenience suffered."
