Demonstration next Saturday, May 10, from Piazza Costituzione to Piazza Matteotti in Cagliari by the antimilitarists of A Foras. The procession will start at 4 pm and there will be a picket from 5 pm to 9 pm in the square next to the port.

The reason, as explained directly by the movement, is to protest "against vulgar propaganda, rearmament and the dismantling of public health".

"This year too, as it has been every year for decades now, Sardinia has been the object of the usual military violence and destruction ," explains A Foras. "With the usual insipid names like "Open Sea" and "Joint Stars", the Sardinian territory was once again put under siege, to allow armies from half the world to prepare for the current and future massacres of innocents."

"This year we must add the insult of a series of connected 'charity initiatives'" , the note continues. "The message is very clear: while Sardinia is being strangled by a series of increasingly suffocating cuts to public services, with the destruction of the right to health, education, and a peaceful and civil life in the many towns of the Sardinian territory, we should be grateful to the army that deigns to give us two days of free health screenings on its new, very expensive flagship".
