New wind assault on the environmental and forest heritage of Montiferru and Marghine . Enel Green Power has filed an Environmental Impact Assessment application to the Ministry of Ecological Transition (MITE) to implement the project of two mega wind farms in Montiferru and Marghine, in Scano Montiferro, Santu Lussurgiu, Sindia, Macomer and Borore .

In Santu Lussurgiu, 9 blades, 115 meters long but extending up to 200 meters. In Scano, on the other hand, 4 towers should be built within the project, for a total power of over 120 megawatts between the 2 plants, in an area of valuable environmental wealth with luxuriant oak and holm oak forests, which could be irreparably changed by these works also visually impactful. Excavations, new paths, lay-bys and maneuvering areas are planned, with a disruptive effect on the territory, but according to the national electricity agency, the area does not "fall within protected natural areas and community sites".

Against the two mayors of Montiferru , united in this civic battle. « There was no preventive and active involvement of the communities . Firm opposition to wind power projects, which will have an indelible effect on the landscape and natural beauty», explain the mayor of Santu Lussurgiu Diego Loi and Antonio Flore Motzo di Scano.
