The Pro Loco Union also sides with the Sardinian mayors involved in defending the territory against the assault of wind turbines.

The regional Unpli, chaired by Raffaele Sestu, recently decided unanimously «to support the mayors' action in favor of shared planning of the installation of energy production plants - through the essential involvement of local communities in all the phases of the decision-making process aimed at defining production facilities - identifying compensatory benefits in favor of local populations and respecting production parameters in relation to the consumption needs of the regional territory".

Sestu recalled the importance of the Pro Loco in the territory, «in consideration of the reasons for their very existence, aimed at the valorisation, diffusion of knowledge and use of the naturalistic, cultural, artistic, historical, traditional, folkloristic, social and food and wine resources of the territory . Valorization necessarily passes through activities that guarantee its preservation for future generations, with a view to sustainable development and not consumption of the territory against the will of the communities ."

«The Associations - we read in the approved resolution - are ready to concretely support the reasons of the territories through the mobilization of citizens alongside their mayors . The president is authorized to hold the necessary discussions with the mayors concerned, ensuring them the full support of the Pro Loco Associations belonging to the Unpli".
