Damage amounting to millions of euros to the crops and structures of agricultural and livestock farms in Sardinia , as well as deaths and injuries due to uncontrolled wildlife .
This is the alarm launched by Coldiretti which will return to the streets tomorrow , and also to Sardinia with sit-ins scheduled in front of the prefectures of the four provincial capitals of the island, Cagliari, Sassari, Nuoro and Oristano, to ask for the support of the prefects, representatives of the state in the region.
The concurrent appointment in all 4 facilities is at 9.30. The event, which will be attended by a large delegation of farmers who will show the effects of the damage caused every day by wild boars, deer, crows, nutrias and cormorants, includes a meeting between the prefects and the leaders of the association.
Among the objectives, as Da Coldiretti explains, is support for farmers but also greater awareness «on the plague that continues to cause ever more concern due to an emergency that is affecting dozens of agricultural companies throughout Sardinia on a daily basis and that is continuing to take on increasingly worse. Proof of this is the tragic events on our roads, the latest in chronological order being the accident in Pula a few days ago, which cost the life of a motorcyclist."
