Seventeenth case of West Nile fever diagnosed in the Oristano area .

A 72-year-old woman from Campidano di Oristano tested positive for West Nile virus. She was admitted to San Martino Hospital but has already been discharged and returned home .

The Department of Hygiene and Health Prevention, headed by Dr. Maria Valentina Marras, immediately implemented all the measures required for the case: an epidemiological investigation and the cordoning off of the woman's home to allow for more thorough disinfection within a 200-meter radius of her home.

Twelve people are currently hospitalized in various hospitals for West Nile fever , five other people, including the 72-year-old, have been discharged.
