In Sardinia , over 160,000 screenings, 9,200 hospital admissions and 64,500 outpatient services were recovered during the period of the Covid-19 pandemic .

These are the data provided by the councilor for health Carlo Doria on the post-Covid health service recovery plan: the expenditure is around 7.5 million euros, just over half of the 13.6 allocated by the Sardinia Region for this purpose .

«The impact of Covid on the national health system has been an epochal event - highlighted the commissioner - and it is even more so for our regional health system impoverished by a long season of cuts and turnover blockade that began in 2004. Despite the difficult situation dictated above all by the lack of specialists , the performance recovery plan continues and has gone ahead, in some cases recording results higher than expected, as happened for hospitalizations where, compared to 5,835 services, estimated as recoverable in 2022, there are been recovered almost double ».

The resources made available by the Region for this purpose, added the exponent of the Giunta Solinas, «have not disappeared, they have been used throughout the territory and will continue to be used until even the last visit left behind is recovered. The reduction of waiting lists represents for us an absolute priority that should be faced with compactness and responsibility».

Then the jab at the opposition: "Sorry, while working with the utmost commitment to overcome the problems, register yet another political exploitation, which once again comes from those who have left regional health in ruins ".
