Voragine in the city center, in Nuoro stop for cars in via Manzoni

A more critical situation than that hypothesized months ago with the first failure. It is the one that emerged yesterday morning during the video inspections in the chasm that opened a few weeks ago in the very central Via Manzoni, between Corso Garibaldi and the Court area in Nuoro . The asphalt collapsed, just below the pedestrian crossing, opening a hole about six meters deep.

A risk situation certified by the inspection, with the Municipality that from tomorrow morning, Friday 8 July, starting at 7 am, has decided to completely close both lanes of via Manzoni, one of the busiest central streets of the city. Then stop the cars in the stretch from via Manzoni between via Lamarmora and via Gramsci where there is a ban on transit and parking for all categories of vehicles with forced removal, on both sides of the carriageway.

In via San Martino, in the stretch of road between Corso Garibaldi and via Manzoni, no transit except for residents' vehicles and institution of the alternating one-way street (only for vehicles owned by residents) while via San Martino will be closed until the intersection with Via Manzoni.

Two alternatives studied by the Municipal Police command , one for vehicles and the other for heavy vehicles over 3.5 tons. Cars arriving from via Lamarmora will have to turn onto via IV Novembre, then continue on via Dante and, passing through piazza Crispi, come out again on via Manzoni. Cars coming from Via Manzoni (Via XX Settembre side) must turn into via Mughina.

Heavy vehicles over 3.5 tons will have to follow another route. For those coming from via Lamarmora to reach via Manzoni you will have to turn well first into via Sicilia, go along via Santa Barbara, via Campania, via Piemonte and piazza Veneto, up to via Gramsci. Those arriving in via Manzoni, will have to pass through via Convento, and get off in via Catte, and piazza Veneto. Variations also for the public bus route: the terminus in via Manzoni of lines 2D, 2D /, 2S, 2S / and 3 will be temporarily suppressed. The new temporary terminus of lines 2D, 2D /, 2S, 2S / and 3 will be in via Deffenu in the section between via Demurtas and via Pola on the right side between house numbers 28 and 54.
