The fortieth edition of the international festival of polyphonic music Voices of Europe continues with success, an event organized by the Turritano Polyphonic Choir under the Artistic Direction of Maestro Laura Lambroni. Yesterday the notes resounded in the aisles of the church of Santo Stefano, in the village of Monteleone Rocca Doria. This evening the Voci d'Europa journey continues in the church of Santa Croce in Sorso. From tomorrow other unmissable appointments, in the company of the melodies of the foreign and Italian groups participating in the event. The opening events were held on Saturday aboard the ferry to Asinara and in the Li Lioni estate.
Tuesday 5 September is set for the debut in the historic home of the Festival, the basilica of San Gavino in Porto Torres, which will be the setting for the concerts of the Turritano Polyphonic Choir and the Ingenium Ensemble, starting at 21. The Turritano Polyphonic Choir will propose a repertoire dedicated to music for female equal voices and for mixed choir. Then it will be the turn of the Ingenium Ensemble sextet. The award-winning Slovenian group - which has received recognition in international competitions in Germany and Austria, a first prize in Spain and the prestigious Slovenian Golden Emblem - will open with a classical repertoire, from Orlando di Lasso to Gastoldi and Monteverdi. This will be followed by original arrangements of music ranging from the Middle Ages to Slovenian folk music. On Wednesday 6 September, at 6.00 pm, Voices of Europe will give a “Concert for social affairs” to the guests of the Community of La Crucca, in the Sassari area: the Turritano Polyphonic Choir and the Sa Pintadera women's choir from Oristano will take the stage.
The latter will perform songs of Sardinian popular inspiration, while the Turritano Polyphonic Choir will offer both a classical and popular-inspired repertoire. Thursday 7 September, at 20, the melodies of the Festival will cross the threshold of the Littu Park of Santa Maria Coghinas with two male groups that will celebrate the Sardinian choral tradition: the Amici del canto sardo choir of Sassari and the Voches 'e Ammentos choir of Galtellì . The Festival will continue in Porto Torres on the 8th and 9th in the Basilica of San Gavino, where, among others, the eagerly awaited children's choir Tölzer Knabenchor, from Germany, and the instrumental group from Assisi Orientis Partibus will be present. Voci d'Europa will also stop on the morning of the 10th in Borutta, in the Abbey of San Pietro di Sorres. Closing in the evening in Porto Torres, in the garden of the Aragonese Tower, with the Neri Per Caso. The VdE Pass project continues, which was created to support the Festival and involve the world of catering and local commerce.
