Hail and torrential rain with gusts of wind hit central and northern Sardinia in the afternoon, particularly in Gallura, where bad weather hit the municipality of Calangianus.

The rains lasted about an hour, causing slowdowns on the roads due to poor visibility and wet asphalt, and damaging vineyards and fruit trees, fully hit by large hailstones.

The major problems for the road system were concentrated on State Road 131 at the height of the Campeda plateau: the roadway was completely covered by hail and motorists had to use the utmost caution.

Many, starting with the truck drivers, preferred to stop in the lay-bys waiting for the weather to improve. No requests for intervention from the fire brigade or the police station, but many inconveniences for those who were travelling.

Hail also in Southern Sardinia, with some literally "whitewashed", such as Gonnosfanadiga.
