Villaurbana is celebrating its centenary. On April 2nd, Agnese Margherita Casta blew out her 100th birthday candles. Mrs. Casta, born in 1926, comes from a family of seven children and throughout her 100th birthday, she has always worked in the fields and in business, ensuring her family lacks nothing.
With her husband, Ernesto Sanna, whom she married at 27, she started a family. Their marriage was crowned with the joy of four children, nine grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. She cultivated many passions throughout her life, including poetry and singing in Sardinian, as well as reading. A lover of cooking, she never missed traditional Sardinian desserts at holidays. Furthermore, in keeping with Villaurbana tradition, she loved making bread at home and is recognized by the community as one of the most skilled bakers in the village, a skill she later helped teach her fellow villagers.
"The Villaurbana administration and the entire community," commented Councilor Michela Dessì, "wish you all the best for this birthday filled with joy and love."
