Tight controls by the local police of Villasimius also (and above all) today, for Ferragosto.
A patrol, following a report from the Coast Guard (just last Tuesday the permanent Coast Guard post was inaugurated) intervened this morning on the beaches of Campus and Cuccureddus to fine a fisherman who had two spear guns with him. This activity is prohibited within the Marine Protected Area of Capo Carbonara.
The man, a Sardinian emigrant who is spending his holidays, justified himself by saying that the Marine Area and the prohibitions were not adequately signaled. For him, in addition to the seizure of the equipment, a nice fine of 344 euros.
The local police controls coordinated by Commander Pier Luigi Casu will continue in a tight manner throughout the week. The controls by the Coast Guard and all other law enforcement agencies have also been intensified.
