The iron bridge over the Flumendosa - the one that connects Muravera and Villaputzu - was closed to traffic today mid-morning . The workers of ProService carried out the order of the Province of Southern Sardinia (the bridge would be at risk of imminent collapse).
From today to reach Villaputzu it will be necessary to pass through Quirra for a route - for those arriving from Muravera - of 18 kilometers instead of three .
A blow for Villaputzu and Sarrabus: the bridge will remain closed for 540 days , the time needed to carry out the renovation works. The mayor of Villaputzu Sandro Porcu has announced battle and strong actions "for a decision that I consider shameful" . An extraordinary and urgent city council was convened on Monday 11 December right on the bridge.
