"He worked like a madman. And work killed him this warm Sunday morning, at the beginning of November, a long weekend, in a random warehouse."

The memory of Maurizio Onnis, mayor of Villanovaforru, the town that gave birth to Emilio Pusceddu, the 56-year-old entrepreneur who died this morning in Sardara, crushed between two trucks of his company, on which he was working, is heartbreaking. A tragedy that has shocked an entire community.

"The sun has set on this horrible day. I will not give voice to the community's pain, because I am not capable of it. But a good part of the vital energy that drives this country forward emanated from him and I feel indebted. Therefore I speak", writes the mayor, with the tip of his pen.

"Emilio was a hot-blooded, visceral man . It was impossible to convince him otherwise when he got something into his head. It was impossible to make him lower his voice when he argued. Generous, very generous. Always a favor, always giving a hand to those who asked," Onnis continues, "with his business and his trucks, he loaded and unloaded goods all the way to the heart of Europe. A top-notch entrepreneur. He wasn't afraid of competition. He wasn't afraid of competition. He provided work, which was essential."

Pusceddu, says the mayor, "defended Villanovaforru as each of us defends our own home. He never backed down if there was an event, a committee, a party to sponsor. He was one of the tireless engines of the town."

The thought goes "to his wife. To three children who are looking for their way in the world. In Villanovaforru, with our commitment, may the push that he always gave her never be lacking."
