A new phase of work has begun on state road 131, between kilometer 23 and kilometer 32. Among other things, it will lead to a significant improvement in traffic flow in Villagreca: work is being done on the at-grade intersections leading into the town from Carlo Felice, which have been the scene of serious accidents on several occasions.

In detail, from today a traffic diversion is active in the direction of Sassari on the coplanar road, from kilometer 30 to kilometer 32,600. This is to allow the widening of the main road and the completion of the works foreseen by the modernization project. Thanks to the availability of the Municipality of Nuraminis and Arst, Anas will proceed with the closure of the central gate of the 131 at Villagreca, to improve the safety of the Carlo Felice . That is, the invasion of the lane towards Sassari to enter and exit the town.

A further phase of the works, which will be communicated and subsequently started by May, also includes the diversion of traffic in the direction of Cagliari along the new route of the 131 as a variant of the current one in the town of Villagreca: in this way, in addition to the one for the entrance to the town, the Samatzai at-grade intersection will also be eliminated, dedicating it to local traffic .

The works have a total value of 63 million euros and involve a total of 10 kilometers of route. The completion of the works is expected by the end of 2025. Once completed, the entire modernized section of the 131 will guarantee the continuity of the safety standards present up to km 108,300.
