Bees are guardians of the environment but also of health and beauty. The theoretical and practical course of self-production with beehive products , proposed in Villacidro by the beekeeper Silvia Muscas in collaboration with the chemist Ilaria Pisu for the month of August sold out , quickly running out of the 30 available places.

The lessons are divided into three days for a total of 12 hours of course and laboratories. On August 2 and 3, the professionals showed students how to prepare soaps, shampoos, face creams, ointments and candles scented with honey, beeswax and royal jelly . The summer course will end on August 28, a day dedicated to the discovery of all the uses of honey in the kitchen , with an end-of-course lunch at the Perda Massa farmhouse in Villacidro.

«Our course is subsidized by the Italian-Arab Chamber of Cooperation within the project for the Bee-Economy , in English "bee economy"» says Silvia Muscas, owner of the Tyrda beekeeping company, «and intends to promote the production, reproduction and processing of all the real treasures derived from bees, better known as products of the hive. A fascinating world that is still little known, despite the fact that men and bees have been “collaborating” for thousands of years».

«The laboratory teaching is very useful with children and teenagers, but also with adults. The enthusiasm of the participants in the course demonstrates how important the concept of learning "by doing" is", concludes Ilaria Pisu, who combines her chemistry skills with her passion for beekeeping.
