The old silo in viale La Playa , within the university campus area in Cagliari, will be made safe . The contract , with a procedure announced on 19 January last, was entrusted to the company 3M Srl of Austis.
The work program includes “the purchase and installation of a provisional structure suitable for containing detachments of material from the elevations, to be installed on the entire North-West elevation and on the flaps of the longitudinal facades. The safety bridge will be contained by a high-strength sheet permeable to air and resistant to temperature variations. The structure will be equipped with a protection system from atmospheric discharges”, reads a note released by the councilor for public works, Gabriella Deidda.
The amount of the works is equal to 312,245.33 euros, in addition to 6,595.29 euros for safety charges, excluding VAT. The contract includes additional economic resources for similar works for 220,673.97 euros, and 21,311 euros for safety.
The company's first site inspection took place yesterday morning. The works , adds Deidda, will be delivered with an emergency procedure for the construction and preparation of the site and started as soon as the scaffolding has been recovered. They will last 33 days.
