Van used as a battering ram: break-in at the Trony store on Highway 131

A robbery occurred last night, with the proceeds still to be quantified, at the Trony department store in San Sperate, along State Road 131.

The criminals entered into action using a van as a battering ram: they smashed one of the shop's windows and, once inside, quickly made off with cell phones and other electronic equipment.

The action was swift: after grabbing everything, the criminals jumped into a car and sped away from the area. Carabinieri officers from the Iglesias Company, responsible for the area, and their colleagues from San Sperate responded to the scene. The stolen van, used as a battering ram, was found on the scene.

The police are now working to identify those responsible for the theft: they have retrieved footage from the store's security cameras, which may have captured every stage of the theft.
