Valledoria, headbutt in the face of the former councilor who had reported building abuses: on trial
Giannetto Satta had been attacked by his neighbor who accused him of having reported urban planning irregularities
"I'll make you pay, infamous . " These are the last words heard by the former provincial councilor Giannetto Satta on the evening of February 18, 2018, in Valledoria, before being immobilized and headbutted by his neighbor, Giuliano Fois. His alleged guilt? Having reported to the municipal offices a building violation committed by his neighbors. For that attack Fois is now on trial at the Court of Sassari: assisted by the lawyer Luca Sciaccaluga, the accused declares his innocence.
This morning at the hearing before judge Monia Adami, Satta, acting as a civil party with the lawyer Nicola Lucchi, told his version of events. He said that he had met Fois on the street, that he had greeted him and that he had received in return, first the insults ( "you ugly bastard, you even have the courage to greet me" ), and then the blows.
«He blocked my arms and gave me a very violent headbutt on the forehead, then at least two or three more, which I managed to partially avoid. Then he ran away telling me I had to pay for it."
Satta had filed a complaint with the Valledoria police the day after the beating and four days later he underwent medical tests because he continued to suffer from severe headaches. Result: 30 days of treatment.
The trial was adjourned until June 11th for the testimony of other witnesses.
