"The degree course did not disappoint my expectations and as a strong point it has a marked technical-scientific imprint": accustomed to confronting herself in the Kickboxing ring, Irene Roggio also showed mastery in recounting her experience with the three-year course in Motor Sciences , Sports and Human Wellbeing. The former world champion and currently Italian champion is one of the 21 new doctors baked for the first time with the course set up by the University of Sassari.

Among the new doctors also Marco Cabeccia, captain of the Sweet Milk, with a thesis on the injury of the anterior cruciate ligament and the comparison between rehabilitation protocols.

In the lecture hall used for a short press conference before the discussion of the thesis, the president of the degree course, Lino Bandiera, said: “The training in Motor Sciences had been lacking in Sassari for about twenty years. The Consulta dello Sport and some sports clubs have given ideas for building a new course. The students are engaged in many hours of training in schools and sports clubs ”.

Deputy Vice Rector Andrea Piana proudly added: “There are 80 registered students because there is a fixed number. In these three years, none of the 230 members has dropped out. There are many outlets: teachers from schools who are about to retire must be replaced, there is the new figure for primary school, the great demand in the private sector for personal trainers ”.

Among those present at the press conference was also the president of Olbia football Alessandro Marino.

For some graduates, the training path does not end with the three-year degree but will also require the master's degree, for example for the teaching qualification. "I will have to go to the University of Cagliari" anticipates Irene Roggio. However, there is the will of the Sassari university to activate the master's degree course as soon as possible.
