San Teodoro, a man falls ill on the beach: rescue efforts are futile.

A 70-year-old Italian man died this afternoon on La Cinta beach in San Teodoro, struck down by illness.

Other swimmers attempted to help him while waiting for the 118 ambulance to arrive. Coast Guard personnel also arrived on the scene to investigate. There was nothing they could do for the seventy-year-old: the 118 team attempted to resuscitate him before pronouncing him dead.
