The contract changes, the agreements already signed fall through and 107 workers find themselves with a reduced monthly pay : it happens in the security and concierge service of the University of Cagliari , where, starting today, September 1st, a new company, Vivenda spa, takes over. And there is an immediate strike called by Filcams Cgil, Fisascat Cisl and Uiltucs Uil.

Tomorrow morning the workers will abstain from service and will demonstrate in front of the rectorate headquarters in via Università in Cagliari, from 9:30 to 11:30.

"After many battles - Nella Milazzo (Filcams Cgil), Monica Porcedda (Fisascat Cisl) and Andrea Lai (Uiltucs Uil) explain - we had obtained the recognition of an additional salary quota to compensate for a disadvantageous change of contract, now we find ourselves discussing with a new company that at the first meeting with the trade unions communicated that it will not respect the agreement signed with the previous management of the contract ".

An unacceptable decision for the unions , who underline how the failure to respect that agreement is penalizing because it has a heavy impact on low wage levels , cutting a part of the salary that was also won after years of demands.

In addition to this, the company that won the contract did not confirm the working hours of the part-time workers , indicating a generic range of shifts in the contracts: "This is also a clear worsening of the conditions of the workers - conclude Milazzo, Porcedda and Lai - because it leaves them at the mercy of an availability that inhibits the possibility of planning their own life times".
