Union of Marghine Municipalities, Arca confirmed as president

There is no representative of the Municipality of Macomer, the capital of Marghine, in the new council of the Union of Municipalities. The assembly of ten mayors, which took place yesterday evening in the institutional building on Corso Umberto, confirmed Gian Pietro Arca, mayor of Silanus, as president, while the mayor of Bolotana, Francesco Manconi, and that of Borore are part of the executive council , Tore Ghisu. Both take over from Rossana Ledda (formerly deputy mayor of Macomer) and Rita Zaru, mayor of Noragugume.

The president will now have to proceed with the distribution of proxies. The new junta will have to work immediately to deal with the many problems afflicting the area, from a social, cultural and economic point of view, including the serious situation facing the Tossilo waste platform.

"In the immediate future we will continue the actions already undertaken - says the president Gian Pietro Arca - also through the implementation of the interventions linked to the Territorial Development Plan, with the expenditure of new and important resources, for the enhancement and promotion of the territory through various interventions and initiatives. We will carry out a unitary action that concerns all the ten municipalities of Marghine, following a territorial policy ». The two new members of the junta will soon receive the proxies and begin to operate.
