Witnesses testified today in the trial for the murder of Davide Unida, the worker from Luras who died in July 2023 from very serious head injuries sustained after a violent argument .

Fabio Malu, 33, also from Luras, is facing charges before the judges of the Sassari Assize Court. The individuals cited answered questions from Malu's defense attorney, criminal lawyer Giampaolo Murrighile , and prosecutor Alessandro Bosco.

Eyewitnesses confirmed the scene described by the Carabinieri. Unida allegedly accused Malu, with whom he frequently argued, of hiding his car keys. Witnesses described Unida yelling and accusing Malu, and the victim reportedly wielding an axe. Malu, after leaving the house holding a metal pipe, according to the courtroom reconstruction, struck the victim in the head. Malu himself was found by a family member in the cemetery in Luras, in despair, in front of his mother's grave.

The victim's family is represented by lawyer Sergio Milia; the trial will resume on October 28 with additional witnesses.
