Not only are sand and shells put in bags as souvenirs from the tourist destinations visited, but rudeness is rampant and, despite the prohibition signs, transgression is the order of the day.

"Uncouth" tourists also arrive on the island of Asinara National Park where, in defiance of the Authority's regulations, they drag their boats to the shore, ignoring the delicate environmental system.

Three dinghies were spotted on the shoreline of Cala delle Barche Napoletane, one of the beaches lapped by the crystal-clear sea not far from Cala D'oliva. These motorized boats were "parked" directly on the sand, just to have all the comforts within easy reach.

Some outraged visitors reported the incident to law enforcement, emphasizing that "the rules are well known and recited by heart, yet people continue to ignore them." And for some, "it's better to turn a blind eye and let the beach be trampled on, contrary to all regulations." The Carabinieri station has noted several violations by tourists infringing the Park and marine protected area's protection rules during these months of increased tourist traffic.
