Unauthorized personnel, a number of guests higher than that allowed and operators without vaccines: serious irregularities that force the mayor Massimo Mulas to close the “San Gavino” elderly housing community opened in Porto Torres on 25 January last.

The mayor issued an order to close the structure , located between via Atrio Metropoli and piazza Martiri, due to the presence of a series of violations relating to the management and the structure found following a series of internal checks.

The measure was taken following the report presented last June 17 by the command of the Carabinieri for the protection and health Nas of Sassari, in which the critical issues relating to the lack of operators in the organizational structure were highlighted, both on the numerical entity and due to the absence of a specific qualifying title necessary to support the personal care and hygiene of the people currently located within the structure.

Furthermore, the "declared" absence by the head of the nursing home, Massimiliano Orrù, of a nurse qualified to administer drugs who is not registered in the appropriate professional register was found, therefore the latter is not to be considered authorized the administration of medical therapies.

The other irregularities concern the presence of operators within the housing community who do not comply with the anti Covid -19 vaccinations and of a number of elderly subjects higher than the actual declared capacity . Violations of the rules also refer to the presence within the structure of non self-sufficient elderly people with important certified and verified diseases.

The offices of the Social Policy Sector had recently ascertained the presence of people over 65 who were clearly not self-sufficient, in the absence of the technical-hygienic-sanitary and functional requisites required by the sector legislation, while it should have hosted individuals under the age of 65.
