The roads affected by the passage of the Tyrrhenian Link cables in the municipal territories of Settimo , Sinnai , Maracalagonis and Quartu will be discussed again at a second meeting of the Metropolitan City scheduled for 16 September.

Also in attendance will be Terna officials and technicians who participated in the meetings remotely yesterday, listening to mayors and administrators of the affected municipalities. The roads in question are the ring road to Settimo, Sinnai, and Maracalagonis; the section of provincial road 15 that passes through Maracalagonis, past the Ganni roundabout; and the section of the provincial road that reaches Terra Mala in the Quartu area.

A living hell of nearly impassable asphalt, with constant traffic jams at construction sites creating endless queues . A living hell that infuriates drivers, and one that could get even worse with the start of the school year.

Here, the mayors of Sinnai , Barbara Pusceddu , of Maracalagonis, Francesca Fadda , of Settimo , Gigi Puddu , and the municipal councilors of Quartu , Antonio Conti and Romina Mura , have listed a long list of a worrying situation, with roads destroyed, unsafe along long stretches, and significant damage also for the municipal administrations. Furthermore, construction sites need to be reorganized, work needs to be accelerated, and the completely resurfaced roads gutted. Not to mention the long-awaited compensation.

The mayors of the Metropolitan City of Cagliari are requesting a suspension of work during the first few days of the new school year . Terna has listened and has assured that it will be present in Cagliari at the next meeting scheduled for September 16th to discuss and find solutions. The interventions of the three mayors present—Puddu, Pusceddu, and Fadda—and of the Quartu municipal councilors Romina Mura and Antonio Conti are noteworthy.

Among other things, they requested a clear timeline and completion of the construction work, the immediate and professional restoration of the provincial roads, and guarantees of pedestrian safety for residents. Furthermore, they also called for the work to be completed by May of next year, before the start of next summer.

In short, there are many problems. Terna could provide answers at the next meeting of the Metropolitan City Council. Yesterday, the vice president, Mayor of Sinnai Barbara Pusceddu, was joined by the Mayor of Cagliari and President Massimo Zedda; also present were Metropolitan City Council official Paolo Mereu and other administrators from the affected municipalities.
