He has a conviction for terrorist association in his country (four years in prison) and in August 2023 Jihed Ayari, 30 years old, of Tunisian nationality, was transferred to Tunis from Olbia (forced escort on a charter flight) on the orders of the Police Chief and the Prefect of Sassari.
The man was arrested yesterday in Olbia, where he returned a few weeks ago, apparently after a trip on a small boat and landing in the south of Sardinia. It was the Digos agents of Sassari who recognized him and stopped him in the Gallura city.
Ayari tried to escape, pushing and shoving the policemen. However, he was arrested and transferred to the security cell for all the checks required by law.
According to the Tempio prosecutor, Claudia Manconi, the man also provided the Digos with a false name.
Today he appeared before Judge Marcella Pinna, assisted by his defense attorney, Maurizio Mani. He was ordered to be transferred to the Repatriation Detention Center (CPR) in Macomer, pending completion of the process for the new expulsion.
