Dangerous and singular accident today on the 554 in Selargius , at the height of the Pischedda fuel station. A truck in transit suddenly lost two gas cylinders .
No injuries were reported, but the incident inevitably slowed down traffic and the gas cylinders rolled onto the roadway and hit a Grande Punto that was traveling behind the truck . Great fear for the driver, Dr. Claudio Lussu , who was headed to Sinnai where he was supposed to open his surgery.
The car crashed into a gas cylinder, severely damaging the front end.
"Luckily," the doctor says, "I stayed behind the big truck, without overtaking. Otherwise, the gas cylinder would probably have flown onto my car and I would have found it on top of me. I'm alive by a miracle . Very scared and with a damaged car."
At around 2pm, Dr. Lussu returned home, accompanied by family members: the Sinnai clinic inevitably opens late, at 4.30pm.
Anas workers, the Monserrato traffic police (who regulated traffic) and Selargius traffic police intervened on site. The inconvenience for motorists was severe.
