A trip out of town, the inevitable lunch or the classic barbecue. But also the opportunity to visit museums. Or to stay in an armchair, at home, perhaps with friends to watch the game.
After Easter, the "rituals" of the Italians are renewed for Easter Monday, aka Easter Monday.
According to Coldiretti and CIA, there will be more than 6 million Italians who will choose to sit with friends and relatives at a restaurant and over a million and a half who will choose lunch at a farmhouse instead.
AT THE TABLE - For residents and tourists in Sardinia - where the sky will remain clear, even if veiled by clouds, with maximum temperatures around 20 degrees - the choice is "green" and in the name of tradition, underlines Coldiretti.
On the table the cornerstones: spit-roasted suckling pig, lamb, kid to combine with artichoke, broad beans, thistle, wild asparagus, olives. And, again, pardule, seadas, formaggelle. Among the agritourism menus, cured meats, local hams, vegetables in oil, the ever-present pecorino cheese, but also panada with vegetables or meat also stand out. Homemade pasta, culurgiones, ravioli, lorighittas, tagliatelle, fregula, maccarrones de busa, cannisones prevail among the first courses. There is no shortage of menus for vegetarians and vegans. Or the fish specialties.
Despite the increases «this year too we register the strong demand for 'made in Sardinia' products, inevitable on Sardinian tables and in agritourism structures - underlines the president of Coldiretti Sardegna, Battista Cualbu - this once again certifies how much our products have a high value both for their great quality and for the enormous variety of dishes of our tradition».
INCREASES - But the increases are felt: «The latest Istat data tells us that in Sardinia the prices of food and drink have risen on average by 14% on an annual basis - explains the president of Adiconsum Sardegna Giorgio Vargiu - the products typical of Easter. For lamb, the price range is between 15 and 18 euros, last year it cost between 15 and 20% - he continues - the price of doves, a traditional dessert, has risen by about 30%, while a chocolate egg 350/400 grams costs between 12 and 19 euros, 10/15% more».
OPEN MUSEUMS – As for the after lunch, many will focus on culture. In Cagliari extraordinary opening for the Municipal Art Gallery, the Palazzo di Città and the Stefano Cardu Siamese Art Museum, in the usual opening hours and according to the tariffs in force, «to allow Cagliari citizens and the numerous tourists arriving in the city these days, to visit the permanent civic collections and the temporary exhibitions».
But there are many museums and cultural offerings that will keep their doors open in all the provinces of the island.
PISA-CAGLIARI – And then sport, with the match between Pisa-Cagliari, another playoff tie-breaker, kicking off at 6pm, with live TV on Sky Sport (202 and 251); live streaming on Sky Go, Now Tv, DAZN and Helbiz Live.
CHECKS – Numerous extraordinary checks by the police are planned on the roads, to monitor movement and safety.
In the Nuoro area, for example, there will be over seventy garrisons in the area, while in the Sassari area the local police will strengthen checks, including with the telelaser, which will be operational on the SS 200 (Sassari-Sorso), in the SP 18 Bancali, in the SP 42 Campanedda, in via de Martini, via Domenico Millelire, via Prati, via Budapest, via Predda Niedda, via Buddi Buddi, viale Porto Torres, via Ottava (ex 131).
