State Road 126 has been closed since late this morning. A worker was injured, and fiber optic cable installation work is currently suspended.

This is the result of a hectic day in the center of Marrubiu, on Via Neapolis, where workers were busy installing fiber optic cables. During these operations, a pipe in the city's gas network was presumably damaged, causing a gas leak. A fire then engulfed a worker: the 30-year-old, originally from Uras, was immediately treated and taken to San Martino Hospital for burns to his arm. His condition is not believed to be critical.

In Via Neapolis, the firefighters intervened to secure the area, as well as workers from the Medea company to fix the gas network and technicians from Anas.

Mayor Luca Corrias also rushed to the scene immediately. "The situation is now under control, and we hope the injured worker recovers quickly," he commented. "I thank the firefighters, local police, and Carabinieri for their support."
