A wave swept them away while they were playing on the shore . This is how the tragedy happened this afternoon on the beach of Porto Alabe , in Tresnuraghes (Oristano) in which a 10-year-old girl lost her life.

The three girls were on the beach with a family friend, on a day when the strong mistral lashed the Oristano coast. They were playing on the water's edge when a tidal wave swept them away .

The woman who was with them immediately triggered the alarm, while the three girls were dragged further and further out by the current . A tourist and a lifeguard immediately jumped into the sea, then the patrol boat of the Bosa port authority also arrived.

One of the girls was recovered by the lifeguard and the tourist, the other by the Coast Guard, who unfortunately also found the lifeless body of the ten-year-old girl . The victim's name is Amira Bennadi: she is of Moroccan origin and Italian nationality, she was born and lives in Macomer, her father has been in Sardinia for 16 years.

The sisters are 12 and 17 years old, both were taken to hospital in Oristano: the 12-year-old is hospitalized with drowning syndrome , the 17-year-old was examined but would not have suffered any consequences. Neither of them are in danger of life.
