Transport of shovels and panels, the mayors' revolt: "We will block the trucks"
The municipal ordinance is ready, the idea comes from Scano Montiferro. First adhesions from the other mayors: «It's a way to protect the Island»Per restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
They will not pass. At least not on certain municipal roads. Antonio Flore, mayor of Scano Montiferro, came up with the idea of curbing energy speculation by blocking, through municipal ordinances, heavy vehicles that transport shovels and panels. There are the first adhesions, even if only from Monday the tricolor bands will try to make a synthesis.
The position
Regardless of the scenario that will emerge, one thing is clear: the mayors remain on the front line to counter the assault of renewables. Flore explains: «The ordinance is part of a series of political and administrative actions guaranteed by the law and that the Municipality of Scano will implement strategically to prevent the devastation of the territory. With the hope that these can be an inspiration for many Sardinian municipalities». Lawyer Michele Zuddas is working on drafting the ordinance: «With the mayors we are creating a table that is neither a traditional committee nor an associative group. We are interested in constructive proposals: the street demonstrations and the popular initiative law Pratobello 24 have demonstrated the importance of continuous dialogue and close collaboration between citizens and the political party».
Choral actions
No mayor intends to sign ordinances alone. "The passages in the Council and the Executive will be mandatory - anticipates Gianluca Serra, mayor of Genoni -. Certainly, it is a shared thought that Sardinia must be defended". In Genoni there is the risk that "an electrical substation will be built on eight hectares, to serve the projects presented in the territory. From Isili to Serri, from Mandas and Escolca. It would be the death of our Municipality, at a distance of just 500 meters from the houses". In Talana, the mayor Christian Loddo will move in the same way. "We will discuss what to do with the assessors and councilors. On renewables, we immediately put ourselves in a position of pressure on the Region. On energy, we are implementing all possible actions to combat abuses. With Pratobello 24, the Sardinians, without differences between residents in urban centers and rural areas, have understood the danger by finding unity in the defense of the territory".
The reflection
The ordinance option is also being considered by Alessio Seoni, tricolor sash in Villagrande Strisaili: «We are in the evaluation phase. But there is no doubt that our Municipality, one of the largest in all of Sardinia, whose borders extend from Orgosolo to Armungia, has already given. 15 percent is occupied by military easements; a not small portion is intended for hydroelectricity with the Bau Muggeris and Santa Lucia dams; civic uses fall within 94 percent of the municipal areas. If we are in the Guinness Book of Records for male longevity, we owe it to the healthiness of the territory and to its beauty, a heritage to be protected».
The appeal
Carlo Duilio Viti is a tricolor sash in Sant'Antonio di Gallura. "We reiterate," he says in the introduction, "no one is against renewables, we must free ourselves from fossil fuels. But we cannot be the ones producing green energy for all of Italy. In our municipality, a project of over 60 megawatts has been presented. Fortunately, the landowners are not interested in the residual economic benefits offered by investors. We are all working together to defend the territory."
