Trains, electricity arrives on the Cagliari-Oristano section: works for 45 million

Rete Ferroviaria Italiana, the leading company of the Infrastructure Pole of the Ferrovie della Stato Group, has awarded the tender for the executive design and construction of the electrification works on the Cagliari-Oristano line: the contract, worth 45 million, went to temporary grouping of companies made up of Euro Ferroviaria and Salcef.
In detail, the poles and the contact line between Cagliari and Oristano will be built for an extension of 150 kilometers of track (95 km of line) , together with six electrical substations that will supply it with direct current.
The new intervention will allow the elimination of almost all diesel vehicles on that stretch. The electrification will also be compatible with the new hybrid trains that have been circulating on the Sardinian network for a few months.
